Top Ten Tuesday: Books We Could Reread Forever

I don’t tend to reread books, but I have had to think about this question in my quest to declutter. (And I just have waaaaayyyy too many books.)

1. The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern

This is a world I want to sink into forever. I could reread this book for the rest of time and still find something new and enchanting about it with every page. THIS BOOK is just amazing. Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Books We Could Reread Forever”

What We’re Currently Reading

After reading a book a day for most of last week, I’m a little sad that my reading pace has slowed down in this second week of January. I’m currently reading a January release called Happiness for Humans by P.Z. Reizin. It’s a romcom kind of book about two AIs who are meddling in the love lives of two humans. I’ts cute, it’s funny, it’s a light and easy read, and I have about half the book to go. The reason I am reading this is for the bookclub that Emily and I are in, meaning that I have to have it finished before we meet to discuss the book tomorrow.

Five Favourites of 2017

Tanaya’s 2017 Favourites

Ask any book lover to tell you their favourite book and I’m sure they’ll have a struggle narrowing it down to just one. Even picking five favourites of 2017 was difficult because there were just so many incredible books we both read.

I in particular have found that my reading tastes have shifted immensely in the last twelve months. When looking at all the books I read last year, a significant number were adult fiction as opposed to YA. Whilst once upon a time the thought of my favourite books no longer being my favourites somewhat saddened me, I now am excited for the all the fantastic books I’ve yet to discover and fall in love with.

What We’re Currently Reading

The first book I picked up in 2018 was The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith. It wasn’t incredible but it was an addictive crime novel with an easy to follow story arc. I am now reading Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton. This novel isn’t out until July 2018, but I have a very early reading copy from work (YAY!). I’m only a hundred pages in, but I’m finding it a little reminiscent of Jasper Jones, which is one of my favourite Australian novels. I expect great things.

Top Ten New to Us Authors We Read in 2017

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they provide a topic, and you choose ten book related things to answer the topic.

Tanaya’s Top Ten!

  1. Celeste Ng

I was lucky enough to visit Book Expo America in 2017, and one book I saw so many times whilst I was there was Little Fires Everywhere. The cover intrigued me so much, but I was unlucky in trying to get an advanced copy. Flash forward to its release, I picked the book up and went into it having no idea that it would be one of my favourite books of 2017. I absolutely adored this book, and have since ordered Ng’s other novel, Everything I Never Told You. I can’t wait for it to arrive so I can read this one too!

  1. Libba Bray
